Finibanco Symbol
Finibanco Symbol
In 1993, when Finibanco, SA was created from the transformation of Finindústria into a bank, a study was undertaken by an accredited specialist company to produce a logotype to symbolise the bank.
Having analysed the results of the various studies, the "specimen" by which it is currently recognised a "flying fish", although some identify it as a bird - was chosen for two reasons:
Aesthetically, it was the most attractive and balanced;
It contained enormous symbolism which could be capitalised upon.
In essence, at an aesthetic level, our logotype presents the great dignity of the Institution and stands out against the blue background.
At a symbolic level, it signifies a figurative element, charged with meaning. As a flying fish, it means that it moves effectively in all directions in a great diversity of clean and unpolluted environments: in its original habitat as well as in other flights it explores. It also symbolises equilibrium in action, elegance in behaviour, security and firmness in movement and total confidence in the results which will be achieved.
If we devote some moments to thinking about the vast scope of this simple image, we may perhaps reach the conclusion that the Finibanco logotype can, and should, be the unifying element of the actions of all those who serve, and also benefit, from the Institution.
